In this course, students learn about the novel Sounder by watching the film* and reading selected excerpts from the novel.
Students learn how to write about about literature in paragraphs, a mini-essay, and a full, comparison and contrast essay.
Personal, detailed, specific feedback is given for every assignment, and students may rewrite and improve their work as many times as they wish.
All course materials can be downloaded as Word documents, or shared as Google docs.
About the story: Sounder is a classic American novel. A touching family drama about an African-American boy and his dog, the story is set during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
